Generate Your First Report

Step 1: Open the report builder

Inside your survey, click the Generate Report button.

Step 2: Choose your layout

Select how many photos appear on each page:

• 1 photo per page. Best for detailed inspections where each photo needs prominence. Ideal for property condition reports and environmental assessments.
• 2 photos per page. Best for surveys with many photos where you want a compact overview. Ideal for progress documentation and site walkthroughs.

Step 3: Name your report

Give your report a descriptive name. This appears in the report header and in your report management dashboard.

Examples:

• "123 Main St. Roof Inspection Report"
• "Phase 2 Progress Documentation. March 2026"
• "Unit 4B Move-Out Condition Report"

Step 4: Generate

Click Generate. Vortyk builds your PDF in seconds, even for surveys with 100+ photos.

Each page of your report includes:

• Photo (with any markups you've added)
• Caption you wrote for the photo
• GPS coordinates extracted from the photo's metadata
• Date and time the photo was taken
• Your name, company, and email in the report header

Step 5: Download or share

Once generated, you can:

• Download the PDF directly to your device
• Share with your client via a password-protected link (see Client Sharing)

Your report is saved in Vortyk and accessible anytime from the reports section of your survey and your central report dashboard.

Managing your reports

All generated reports are available from your survey's report list and the main reports dashboard. From there you can:

• Browse all reports across projects
• Download any report
• Delete reports you no longer need
